Green Beans with Pork Sausage
fresh green beans with pork sausage with hot peppers
Equipment
- large pan or wok
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh slender string green beans
- 1/2 poung ground pork or use bulk pork sausage
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil for sauté of fresh beans
- 1 tbl garlic
- 1 tsp ginger
- 3 fresh scallions chopped
- 4 oz shitake mushrooms
- 1/2 pound ground pork sausage
- 4 dried red chilies
- 1 tbsp chili paste
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice wine
- dash whte pepper, ground
Instructions
- IN a large pan or wok, heat the oil over high. Fry the string beans until they start blistering. Remove the string beans and set aside till later.1 pound fresh slender string green beans, 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- In the same pan or wok, add the garlic, ginger, and scallions. Fry until fragrant. Add the mushrooms and the ground pork. Fry until the pork is mostly done.1 tbl garlic, 1 tsp ginger
- Stir in the dried red chilies and chili paste.4 dried red chilies, 4 oz shitake mushrooms
- Add the string beans back to the pan/wok. Toss to combine everything.
- Add the soy sauce, rice wine and a dash of white pepper. Enjoy!2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp rice wine, dash whte pepper, ground
Notes
an excellent main course using up those slender green beans from the garden. I had used Jimmy Dean sausage that comes in a tube instead of fresh ground pork for this dish
